Aunt Boot’s Sticky Buns (the Easy Way)
(Made with Frozen Bread Dough)
Ingredients:
- 1 loaf Frozen Bread Dough
- 1 stick softened Butter
- Cinnamon (to taste)
- Sugar (to taste)
- 1+ C. Sugar
- 1 C. Water
Directions:
- Thaw a loaf of frozen bread and let it rise overnight.
- Spray an 8x8 pan with Pam.
- Pull raised bread out of bowl and roll out on a lightly floured surface into an approximate 8” x 15” rectangle.
- Spread the softened butter over the surface of the dough rectangle.
- Sprinkle sugar generously over the buttered dough rectangle.
- Sprinkle cinnamon over the dough rectangle.
- Roll the dough on the long side.
- Using a knife, make small marks to determine cutting points (in an effort to determine that the cinnamon rolls will be of a uniform size. Then, actually slice the long roll at the point of the “marks.”
- Carefully pick up each cinnamon roll and place it in the Pam-sprayed pan.
- Allow the cinnamon rolls to rise until about doubled.
- When the rolls have risen nicely, bake them in a 350 degree oven for about 25 minutes.
- While the rolls are baking, prepare the syrup in a small cook pot, mixing the sugar and water together and just bring it to a boil.
- When the cinnamon rolls have baked for about 25 minutes, take them out of the oven and pour the syrup slowly over them.
- Put the cinnamon rolls back in the oven for about 10 more minutes, watching them carefully…so they don’t burn.
This recipe makes 8 to 10 sticky buns.
