Original Toll House Chocolate Chip Cookies


Ingredients:

  • 2 ¼ C. all-purpose Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 C. (two sticks) Butter, softened
  • ¾ C. Sugar
  • ¾ C. firmly packed Brown Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla 
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 (12-oz.) package (or 2 C.) Nestle Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels
  • 1 C. finely chopped Walnuts (optional)

Directions:

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  • In a large mixing bowl, beat butter, sugar, brown sugar and vanilla until creamy.  
  • Beat in eggs.
  • Add the flour (a little at a time), baking soda and salt to the wet ingredients; beat together on low to medium speed until thoroughly mixed.
  • Stir in the Nestle morsels (and optional nuts) by hand.
  • Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls unto an ungreased cookie sheet.
  • Bake 9-11 minutes or until edges are golden brown.

Note:  This recipe yields about 6 dozen 1½ inch cookies.
