- 3 C. Flour
- 1 ½ C. Brown Sugar
- ¼ Butter, softened
- 1 ½ C. Turkey Table Syrup
- 2 teaspoons Baking Soda
- 2 C. Boiling Water
Directions:
- Prepare a pie crust and arrange in a large, deep pie tin (do not use glass); flute the edges of the crust.
- In a medium size bowl, mix the flour, brown sugar and butter by hand to make crumbs.
- In another bowl, pour the Turkey table syrup in.
- Sprinkle baking soda on top of the syrup.
- Add the boiling water to the syrup mixture. (Mix with a wooden spoon).
- Pour (filling about half way) the syrup mixture into the bottom of the prepared pie dish.
- Sprinkle the crumbs over the molasses mixture.
- Bake at 400 degrees for 10 minutes, then reduce the heat to 350 for another 30 minutes.
