Tuna Noodle Casserole

A one-dish delight, tuna noodle casserole is as tasty as it is traditional.  Homemade croutons make for a creative topper, adding a subtle crunch to this creamy classic.

Ingredients

  • 1 12-ounce package egg noodles
  • 2 6-ounce cans tuna, drained
  • 2 cans cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup frozen peas
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 slices of bread, cut into cubes (for homemade croutons)
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Prepare noodles according to directions on package.  Drain.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine noodles along with tuna, cream of mushroom soup, peas, and milk, and mix well.  Pour mixture into a 9x13-inch baking dish and bake in the oven for 30 minutes.
  • About five minutes before taking the casserole out of the oven, prepare your homemade croutons.  To make, melt butter in a sauté pan over medium-high heat.  Add bread cubes as butter begins to become frothy.  Brown for two minutes on each side.  Add croutons to the top of your casserole.
